Do not hang on to A-K that is not a promising winning.  Understand that Ace does not mean winning always and every time there are there with you.  Every high card pocket does not mean a winning in holdem.  Perhaps they do have a hope.  Getting a good starting hand is just a good opening and it does not mean wholesome winning.

The winning chances in Texas holdem transits from player to player with every card that turns up in the flop, every card that comes up in the turn and every card that turns up in the flop.  The player that might be dominating the table in the flop can lose to someone else that improved with the coming of another card in the river. This is because one combination tends to beat another combination of card when a new card turns up.
